Overview

Our client came to us after completing a contemporary re-design of a traditional house. Our goal was to create a landscape that was in harmony with the new architecture, while not fighting with it.

Embracing a “less is more” philosophy the old, overgrown landscaping was stripped back revealing the gorgeous gnarled trunk of the Tea Tree (Leptospermum). Drawing from the surrounding vistas and landscape, a rugged drought tolerant palette of Yucca gloriosa, Agave “Creme Brulee”, and Stipa were planted. Against the house, in low light, is a mass planting of Xanadu philodendron.  A focal point succulent container rests in the entry courtyard raised planter.

Nestled into the back yard hillside is a Sculpture installation by “G.A.B. METALWORKS”.
